Water Molecules

I love to travel and can be found In every home in the United States. I can change into many different shapes and can go almost anywhere If I am given the chance. My story starts in a well in my back yard at my home. I come from an underground aquifer. I can travel through the pipes into my kitchen faucet. I have many uses. I can be hot, warm or even cold. I can be mixed with dish soap in the kitchen sink or ran through a dishwasher to clean the dishes.I can wash clothes or be used to cook with. I can be mixed with something or drank plain. There are a lot of foods made with me. I am used for many things. People clean with me. Drink me and cook with me. I travel swiftly and In many shapes. I also can rise Into the clouds and evaporate Into a gas. It starts to rain. I fall down to earth. I lay in puddles. The plants soak me up. Rain barrels fill with me in them and the animals drink me. Plants and animals cannot survive without me. I make the plants and grass grow.After lying on top o f the soil for a while, what does not evaporate soaks into the soil. I am now groundwater traveling through the ground. I make my way back Into the underground aquifer and back Into my well. This Is a never ending process. I start my cycle all over again. I am used many times thru out the day. I go through my cycle over and over each day and night. Everyone needs me. Not everyone has easy access to me. Some people have easy access at their homes while others have to buy water or walk for miles to attain enough water to survive.In many cases water is being wasted. Hydrogen bonding holds water molecules together. At 32 degrees the kinetic energy is so low that the water freezes. When the temperature rises the kinetic energy thaws and we then have liquid water again. My Choice Is Reading Essay By reading books, people can learn how to get through problems in their own lives by relating to characters. Readers can see what characters did to get out of bad situations, and what they learned from them. In Uglies by Scott Westerfield the reader grasps that what someone looks like on the outside doesn’t matter, and it is what is on the inside that counts. The Fault In Our Stars and Looking For Alaska by John Green both deal with death at a young age and losing loved ones. Love is a serious topic in all of these books, and an important lesson learned is that love is blind. The Fault In Our Stars is a love story between Hazel and Augustus who are both battling cancer at the same time. They meet at a cancer support group and fall in love, but then the cancer in Augustus comes back and ends up killing him. John Green does a considerable writing job in making whoever reads the book fall in love with both characters. That is why it is extremely sad in the end because when Gus dies, the reader undergoes the same sadness that Hazel has. Loosing a loved one is also a theme in Looking For Alaska. Miles decides to go to a boarding school, and while there, he makes friends for the first time. More importantly though, he meets Alaska whom he loves from the first moment he saw her. Alaska already has a boyfriend and she will not cheat, but she lugubriously reflected a secret love for him. Unfortunately she perishes in a car crash so their relationship will always be a great perhaps. Miles’ love story is a little different than Hazel’s in a way that Hazel got to really experience the love before it was torn, whereas Miles’ was an unexplored mystery. People everywhere love differently like in the books by John Green, but both stories are similar because the characters have to deal with the loss of a loved one. Everybody deals with losing loved ones in different ways. In Looking For Alaska the whole book is written in the parts before and after Alaska’s death. This shows that Miles is unable to separate his own life from her death. In The Fault In Our Stars Hazel deals with the death of Augustus quite differently. She tells her story building up to his death, and after his death skips to the present day to say that even though Gus is gone, she still loves him. Hazel was able to separate her life from his death in a way Miles was not able to with Alaska,  while still indicating that their love survived even his death. Looking For Alaska deals with a lot of growing up. Miles and his friends throughout the whole book are trying to grow up to be who they want to be. In The Fault In Our Stars Hazel has to find ways to cope with the imminence of her own death, and rather than growing up she has to deal with the process of dying. Hazel has to find her place in death while Miles has to find his place in life. In the book Uglies the theme of growing up to be who you want to be is very important. Scott Westerfield’s book Uglies is a dystopian book much like Maze Runner or Hunger Games. In Tally’s world people live by what they look like. At the age of 16 people get the transformation to turn them into a pretty from an ugly. When someone gets the pretty operation they look like everybody else, but they also get their brain changed. Tally is forced to grow up and get the operation but she rebels and runs away. Tally finally finds out who she is and who she loves just by being who she wants to be. This book deals with he subject of appearance, which is relevant to society today. Everybody thinks that in order to be happy, that you have to be perfect looking. This book teaches the reader that it is what is on the inside that counts. Just like in The Fault In Our Stars, Hazel does not think anybody will love her because she is dying of cancer. Then Gus does. This deals with the saying that love is blind. When someone loves someone they can look past all the flaws and only see perfection. All three of the books read deal with this topic. It is so important to read. Reading makes the reader fall in love, cry, and get angry or excited. Books open people up to reoccurring themes and make them learn really valuable lessons. The books The Fault In Our Stars, Looking For Alaska and Uglies all relate in different ways, and all deal with very diverse content. The most important lesson learned from these books is to be whom you want and to love unconditionally.

An English idiom and a Chinese idiom which are same in image maybe different in figurative meaning. If we can transfer both the image and the figurative meaning by literal translation, we should use literal translation. Proportions of Numbers and Magnitudes In the Elements, Euclid devotes a book to magnitudes (Five), and he devotes a book to numbers (Seven). Both magnitudes and numbers represent quantity, however; magnitude is continuous while number is discrete. That is, numbers are composed of units which can be used to divide the whole, while magnitudes can not be distinguished as parts from a whole, therefore; numbers can be more accurately compared because there is a standard unit representing one of something. Numbers allow for measurement and degrees of ordinal position through which one can better compare quantity. In short, magnitudes tell you how much there is, and numbers tell you how many there are. This is cause for differences in comparison among them. Euclid's definition five in Book Five of the Elements states that " Magnitudes are said to be in the same ratio, the first to the second and the third to the fourth, when, if any equimultiples whatever be taken of the first and third, and any equimultiples whatever of the second and fourth, the former equimultiples alike exceed, are alike equal to, or alike fall short of, the latter equimultiples respectively taken in corresponding order." From this it follows that magnitudes in the same ratio are proportional. Thus, we can use the following algebraic proportion to represent definition 5.5: (m)a : (n)b :: (m)c : (n)d. However, it is necessary to be more specific because of the way in which the definition was worded with the phrase "the former equimultiples alike exceed, are alike equal to, or alike fall short of†¦.". Thus, if we take any four magnitudes a, b, c, d, it is defined that if equimultiple m is taken of a and c, and equimultiple n is taken of c and d, then a and b are in same ratio with c and d, that is, a : b :: c : d, only if: (m)a > (n)b and (m)c > (n)d, or (m)a = (n)b and (m)c = (n)d, or (m)a < (n)b and (m)c < (n)d. Though, because magnitudes are continuous quantities, and an exact measurement of magnitudes is impossible, it is not possible to say by how much one exceeds the other, nor is it possible to determine if a > b by the same amount that c > d. Now, it is important to realize that taking equimultiples is not a test to see if magnitudes are in the same ratio, but rather it is a condition that defines it. Levels of Literacy in African-American Literature - Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, Song of Solomon, and Push      Ã‚  Ã‚   Through literacy will come emancipation. So runs a theme throughout the various selections we have read thus far. But emancipation comes in many forms, as does literacy. The various aspects of academic literacy are rather obvious in relation to emancipation, especially when one is confronted with exclusion from membership in the dominant culture. In the various slave narratives we have examined, all but one writer, Mary Prince, managed to achieve academic literacy to varying degrees (although, Mary Prince was in the process of learning to read and write). And even though she was not literate, Mary was still able to have her story told. Frederick Douglass, made it a point to attain literacy at any cost. Most, but not all, of Toni Morrison's characters in Song of Solomon appear to have attained at least a modicum of literacy. In Push, Sapphire has her protagonist, Precious, pointed down a long road toward at least a minimal form of academic literacy that will allow her to become a more functional human being and a much more productive member of society. What part does literacy play in the advancement of the individual, and to what lengths will one go to achieve it? What part must the individual play to make certain that literacy leads to the desired or implied advancement? And, finally, is there a cost for literacy, or is it always something gained?    Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass    As a relatively young man, Frederick Douglass discovers, in his Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, that learning to read and write can be his path to freedom. Upon discovering that... ...he past, but Douglass and Precious can use their connections with the past as means to avoid its mistakes. So all three find a personal use for what once was reality as a promise for a more fulfilling reality in the future. Abstract The core reason for us to do this research is to find out whether there is an improvement in the education quality in Bhutan in last five years or not. We have done this by taking into consideration the standardized test scores of twelfth and tenth standard.Also to show the trends of marks obtained by the students in examination and make the facts available as base for further analysis. The method we adopted is analytical research method where we will be using secondary data available from the records of BCSEA. We selected randomly 50 samples each from both classes tenth and twelveth standards and found the mean to plot a graph to illustrate the facts, which will make it easier to understand the trends. The primary result that our research provides is that education quality in Bhutan has been remaining constant in last five years (2007-2011), with little bit of variation from year to year. hich more or less gives conclusion of being constant. The result of our findings plays a vital role, as this topic is mostly highly controversial and is discussed topic frequently. at all the point. Modern education was started in early 1960’s and it has been noted as foundation for success of the nation. Education has played an important role in the development of the economy and today also education is receiving an important development priority from Royal government of Bhutan along with country’s development philosophy of GNH.The main reason for us to choose this research probl em is to clear the doubt of the people in Bhutan regarding this topic, â€Å"Is the quality of education in Bhutan improving or deteriorating in the last five years? † Moreover quality of education has become a serious issue for the Bhutanese society. and at all the time. The hypothesis for our research goes, â€Å"The quality of education in Bhutan is deteriorating in last five years†.Education quality in Bhutan has been noted deteriorated in many aspects like, In olden days students were sent to school at later ages like eight or ten, where they are matured enough to learn and analyze the teachings. In present days children at the age of four or five are sent to school where they seem to be innocent and will not be able to grasp what is delivered. In past days most of the parents were illiterate and when they sent their children to school they feel that their child is doing something new and were treated with pride and dignity.Whereas in today’s scenario, most of the parents are educated and when their child make mistake they refer it as blunder and incapable. It is said that, â€Å"The product quality directly correlates with the process quality† (Wangchuk 2009). To say that how good or bad the students are depends entirely upon how well they received the education. â€Å"The ‘quality input’ in a school setting encompasses adequately trained and motivated teachers, good infrastructure, good library, conducive teaching-learning environment, reasonable working hours, adequate stationary, normal motivated students and good recreational facilities.Take away any of these attributes and the quality of education is bound to go down the drains† (Wangchuk 2009). The other factor which leads to deterioration of education is the allocation or right teacher for right subject. The various limitations associated in our research are like, our sample size is too small to represent the whole nation and post our findings as com pared to that of optimum sample size, time allocated for us to collect data was only two days and we face lots of challenges for cash management and time management. They were not able to write an application correctly. He also pointed out that in schools only theory has been given more importance and students possess no skills of application of those skills [1]. What quality of education are we looking at? Article by Wangchuk, 2009 states that teachers are not happy with the pay scales and politicians have increased the package of salary.Here he says that â€Å"monetary reward is not the ‘all cure antidote’ for the perceived decline of education quality† [4]. According to Research Paper of 2008 titled â€Å"Quality of education in Bhutan†.Says that to measure the quality of education, there need to be use of frequent feedbacks from students side [5]. ? Design of the study The research design that we have adopted is analytical research method where we will be using secondary data available from the records of BCSEA. The source of our data is from BCSEA, where we are solely depending on secondary data, and the standardized test scores of class ten and twelve. The sampling procedure is random sampling from thousands of score of different students from various schools in Bhutan.We went to BCSEA and asked for the standardized scores to make our analysis. Whereby we selected fifty samples of students each from both tenth and twelfth standards. To make our analysis we calculated mean marks of each year and compared for both class ten and twelve scores. Also we calculated combined mean of both class ten and twelve scores taking all fives into consideration. ? Summary The research question on which we were doing research is, â€Å"Is the quality of education in Bhutan improving or deteriorating in the last five years? † In Bhutan this research problem is mostly a frequently discussed topic and plays a vital role in the development of nation along with the core concept of GNH.The research method that we have used is analytical research and all the analysis made is based on the facts available from the BCSEA office. We have taken the standardized test scores of twelfth and tenth standard and picked a sample size of 100, where 50 samples are from tenth standards and 50 samples from twelfth standards. For example a painter and decorator needs paint, brushes and transport.The material used in a business can range from large sheets of metal used for packaging. Equipment is vital if an organisation is to operate effectively. For example if a ICT company didn’t have computers in their offices they wouldn’t be able to run the business. Computers have become increasingly importan t as companies move much of their day to day like running onto ICT systems. Computers now from the core of offices around the work as we use them to complete nearly all our daily tasks. The use of ICT has enables businesses to increase their customer’s base and improve efficiency.In order to keep the business running smoothly, businesses need to maintain and refurbish their equipment. Companies should run regular fire drills to make sure everyone is aware of what the procedure is in the event of a fire. This became the law as part of the Health and safety act 1974 which states that organisations must have provisions in place in case of an emergency. Technological resources are not just computers, they include intellectual property, accumulated experience and skills, software licence and patents and copyright, these are often indivisible and hard to place a value on.
